Applying for ERDF Funding and Guidance for Applicants
Potential applicants should, in the first instance, view the Operational Programme Document to see if their idea is coherent with the programme’s aims and is covered by the Programme’s Priorities.

Calls for Proposals
An open call for proposals was issued in April 2009 and was originally intended to close on 31st March 2010. However the Programme Monitoring Committee decided on 16th October 2009 to extend the call until June 2010 as it wanted more time to evaluate the programme in light of the economic crisis before it made any decisions about changing or refocusing the programme's investment strategy. This second open call replaced the first call that ended on 31st March 2009.

A Priority Prospectus has been developed in consultation with regional partners to identify activities that will maximise the funding opportunities and deliver the Programme’s Priorities. This has been revised in response to the changing economic situation and the project proposals already progressing through the system from the first call. This prospectus has also been extended until June 2010.

A supplementary Call for Proposals was issued on Friday 11th December, seeking proposals to maximise digital opportunities that build on the investment the Programme has made in Digital Region, the project to create a next generation public sector broadband infrastructure in South Yorkshire. This call remains open until June 2010.

Award of ERDF funding in Yorkshire and The Humber is competitive. All activity has to be eligible to be funded but just because activity is eligible does not necessarily mean that the application will be successful. The Programme decides which projects to support using a range criteria including costs, outputs delivered and need in the region to make decisions.
Application Process and Forms
The application process is in three stages. View an outline of the ERDF process and likely timescales.
The first stage is optional. It allows applicants to submit initial project ideas on a simple form and receive early feedback from the Programme managers on its eligibility and an early view on the possibility of it being supported, without committing to the work required for subsequent stages.
Download the ERDF Enquiry Form.
The second stage is compulsory and requires the applicant to submit an Outline Business Plan. This is then published on the Programme’s website for 10 working days for partner comment.
Download the Outline Business Plan pro-forma.
The third stage is also compulsory and requires the applicant to submit a Full Business Plan and complete the Full Buisness Plan Financial tables
