Notified schemes

Yorkshire Forward has notified the following schemes to the European Commission.  Any projects using these schemes must adhere to the conditions and criteria set out in the schemes.  Yorkshire Forward has to regularly report to the Commission the amount of aid granted under these schemes, so any projects using these schemes must keep detailed and up to date records of all granted aid.

Northern England Property Scheme 2010 -2013

State Aid number

This scheme, which operates from 1st January 2010 to 31st December 2013, has been notified under the new General Block Exemption Regulation. The scheme allows aid to support the development of new premises or buildings or the renovation and conversion of existing premises and buildings for industrial and commercial purposes by the private sector in Yorkshire and the Humber and the North East of England. The scheme, which also provides measures to encourage environmentally sustainable buildings, is open to small, medium sized and large companies. Download the full text of the scheme.

Regional Venture Capital Scheme for Yorkshire and Humber, North East of England and North West of England 2010 -2013

State Aid number

This scheme, which operates from 1st January 2010 to 31st December 2013, has been notified under the new General Block Exemption Regulation. The scheme provides State aid basis for the operation of the individual regional venture capital funds in Yorkshire and Humber, North West of England and North East of England. The maximum aid ceiling allowed under the scheme is €1.5 m per undertaking (company) per 12 months and it is open to small and medium sized companies only. Download the full text of the scheme.

Training Aid to support to Yorkshire and Humber, North West of England and North East of England Enterprises 2009-2013

State Aid number X93/2009

This scheme, which operates from 1st January 2009 to 31st December 2013, has been notified under the new General Block Exemption Regulation.  The scheme allows aid to support training, both general and specific, in large companies and SMEs in Yorkshire and Humber, North West of England and North East of England.  The maximum aid intensity allowed under the scheme is 80% and the maximum aid per undertaking (company)  per project is €2m.  Download the full text of the scheme.

SME Consultancy Scheme for Yorkshire and Humber 2009-2013

State Aid number X113/2009

This scheme, which operates from 1st January 2009 to 31st December 2013, has been notified under the new General Block Exemption Regulation.  The scheme allows aid to support outside consultancy for SMEs Yorkshire and Humber.  The maximum aid intensity allowed under the scheme is 50% and the maximum aid per undertaking (company) per project is €2m.  Download the full text of the scheme.

Yorkshire and Humber Research and Development Scheme for Large Companies

Commission General Block Exemption Reference Number X62/2008

This scheme is an extension of the original scheme (notification number N486/2003) which operated from 1st April 2004 to 31st March 2008.  The duration of the scheme was extended to 31st March 2013 and now operates under the Commission Regulation No 800/2008 General Block Exemption Regulation.  The scheme allows aid to support research and development activities in large companies in Yorkshire and Humber.  The maximum aid intensity allowed under the scheme is 50%.  Download the full text of the scheme.

 

South Yorkshire Digital Region Broadband Project

State Aid number N157/2006

This scheme aims to encourage the delivery of competitive advanced broadband services in South Yorkshire by creating high speed infrastructure enabling the delivery of range of advances services to the public sector, local businesses and residents.

This scheme operates from 9th March 2006 for a period of 10 years, allowing for the selection of a “technology “partner” by open procurement, who will be the main beneficiary of the aid.  Indirect beneficiaries of aid are expected to be service providers, and public sector, business and residential users in South Yorkshire.  Download the full text of the scheme.

One North East - Yorkshire Forward Aid for Innovation Advisory and Support Services Scheme 2009-13

Provisional scheme number: 2701

This scheme, which operates from 1st April 2009 to 31st December 2013, has been notified under the General Block Exemption Regulation.  The scheme allows aid to support the provision of innovation advisory services and for innovation support services to SMEs.  The maximum aid intensity is 100% for service providers that have national or European certification or up to 75% where there is no certification.  The maximum aid allowed is €200,000 per beneficiary within any 3 year period. One North East – Yorkshire Forward Aid for Young Innovative Enterprises Scheme 2009-13

Provisional scheme number: 2714

This scheme, which operates from 1st April 2009 to 31st December 2013, has been notified under the General Block Exemption Regulation.  The scheme allows investment in small enterprises that have been in existence for less than six years; and whose research and development costs represent at least 15% of its total operating costs in at least one of the three years preceding the granting of aid.  Aid granted under this scheme shall not exceed €1.25m per beneficiary based in an assisted area and €1m per beneficiary not based in an assisted area.  Download the full text of the scheme.

One North East - Yorkshire Forward Aid for Technical Feasibility Studies Scheme 2009-13

Provisional scheme number: 2702

This scheme, which operates from 1st April 2009 to 31st December 2013, has been notified under the General Block Exemption Regulation.  The scheme encourages SMEs and large companies to undertake technical feasibility studies preparatory to industrial research (IR) and experimental development (ED) activities.  For SMEs the maximum aid intensity of the eligible costs of the preparatory studies is 75% for industrial research activities and 50% for experimental development activities.  For large companies the respective aid intensity levels are 65% and 40%.  Download the full text of the scheme.
