What we’re doing in the North Yorkshire geographical area
Yorkshire Forward has offices in York, from where we look after the geographical area of North Yorkshire. We’re investing over £85m to help make North Yorkshire an even better place to live, work and invest.
This geographical area is largely rural and economically diverse, and the team focuses on strategy, partner development, sector knowledge, urban and rural renaissance, property, skills, social inclusion, and business development.
Our North Yorkshire office handles the delivery of a full range of Yorkshire Forward activities across the geographical area, including:
- Setting strategies, such as the development and delivery of the Investment Plan, the strategic vision for the geographical area
- Supporting and developing the Renaissance programmes for our rural towns and for our urban towns & cities.
Our team there works closely with our partners in the City of York and the districts of Scarborough, Selby, Ryedale, Hambleton, Richmondshire, Harrogate and Craven.
They also work with our geographical area partners, including the Learning & Skills Council, Business Link, the national parks, North Yorkshire County Council, cultural organisations, and private-sector organisations.
