Cross Cutting Themes

The Cross Cutting Themes are a requirement from the European Commission because Environmental Good Practice, Equalities and Diversity are essential aspects of making economic and social progress throughout Europe. At a regional level these areas are considered to be essential in order to achieve employment growth and improve competitiveness and provide long-term sustainability.

The purpose of the CCTs within the Yorkshire and the Humber Operational Programme is to ensure that sustainable development and equality underpin and inform how we deliver all the activity financed through the programme.

These themes cut right through the Strategy and will influence the choices made and how actions are delivered. They will inform specific project activity within priorities and there will be adoption of actions based on CCTs within projects which will drive forward the whole Programme strategy. They will be considered at every stage of the project lifecycle, from its development, application and delivery to how it is monitored and evaluated.
