Regional Transport Advisory Board

Under new governance arrangements that came into effect on 1 April 2009, a "Regional Transport Advisory Board" was established, which reports to the Joint Regional Board.

The Regional Transport Advisory Board is chaired by Yorkshire Forward's Board Member Cllr Mark Kirk and is comprised of local authority, business, environment and consumer representatives. It is also supported by the Regional Transport Executive Group, chaired by Simon Foy, Executive Director of Strategy at Yorkshire Forward.

A key feature of the new arrangements is maintaining strong links between our region and the 4 sub-regions. This means that sub-regions will be expected to oversee spending performance and also put into place effective prioritisation for transport schemes. The Regional Transport Advisory Board works with the 4 sub regions to help them with this.
