Delivering a Sustainable Transport System

An important early piece of work that the Regional Transport Advisory Board is leading is the region's approach to DaSTS (Delivering a Sustainable Transport System), which is the Government's approach to long term planning. "DaSTS" seeks to look at how transport fits in with a number of wider goals including economic development and climate change, and uses this information to prioritise projects.

We are currently developing an evidence-based proposition to DaSTS which will ultimately lead to a long term transport investment programme from 2014 onwards. DaSTS is also an important input to the Integrated Regional Strategy.

DaSTS projects are currently being considered by the Department for Transport and will be detailed here in due course.
