The Bedale Renaissance Charter states that the mission in Bedale is “to enhance the quality, cultural richness, health and prosperity of Bedale and the surrounding area for those who live there, work there and visit”.

• Goal 1 – Encourage a sustainable local economy
• Goal 2 – Develop a framework for enhancing transport and movement
• Goal 3 – Developing Bedale as a high quality visitor destination
• Goal 4 – Seek to maintain and develop a wide range of leisure and recreational opportunities
• Goal 5 – Enhance the quality and diversity of Bedale’s retail and hospitality offer
• Goal 6 – To maintain and enhance a high quality of health, education and social provision
