Boroughbridge
Situated in Harrogate district in North Yorkshire, Boroughbridge is a thriving small market town located on the River Ure, next to the A1 and offering a wide variety of shops. Set between the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks, it has access to countryside of national value. A line of three menhirs, or standing stones, known as The Devil's Arrows, believed to have been erected in the Bronze Age, can be found on the outskirts of Boroughbridge, just by the side of the A1. The tallest stone is 6.8 metres in height.
Close to the A1, Boroughbridge is not served by a train line but the East Coast Main Line can be accessed at York, and Leeds/Bradford International airport is less than an hour away.
