Doing More With Less: Inaugural Workshop of the Formulation Innovation Network

02/02/2010 12:30 - 17:30

Venue : Woodhouse Rooms, University House, University of Leeds

Post code : LS2 9JT

Intelligent Formulation Ltd (IF) would like to invite you to attend the inaugural workshop for the new Formulation Innovation Network to be held on Tuesday 2nd February, University of Leeds from 12.30 - 17.30. Attendance is free of charge and includes lunch.

We hope that you will be able to participate in the workshop and take advantage of networking opportunities. Through a variety of products and services the objective of the Network is to provide business benefit by accelerating innovation in formulation through facilitated cross-sector research and knowledge transfer to address future challenges and opportunities. With significant funding and support from Yorkshire Forward and the European Regional Development Fund, the Innovation Network is bringing together companies large and small as well as universities and other organisations in order to stimulate and support collaborative activities. IF is a not for profit company set up by Yorkshire Chemical Focus Ltd, the Institute for Pharmaceutical Innovation and ParticlesCIC with the primary objective of delivering the new Innovation Network. Together with Chemistry Innovation KTN, these organisations are providing IF with strong support as we build on and take over from the existing networking activities supported by Yorkshire Forward over the last two years.

The technical and industrial theme of the inaugural workshop will be “Doing More With Less” which we have drawn from the formulation technology roadmap. The theme addresses innovations in multifunctional components to give targeted effects and reduce the number of components used. The workshop will be highly interactive in nature and it will conclude with an official launch of the Network by Iain Gray (Chief Executive of the Technology Strategy Board). This will be an opportunity for attendees to hear his perspective on collaborative R&D projects which are an important priority for the Network.

If you would like to attend, please e-mail lisa@ycf.org.uk. Before the workshop there may be an opportunity to visit the Institute for Process Research and Development, so please inform Lisa if you would be interested in taking part in this.
