The Awards Evening
The Going Global Dinner and Awards 2010 will attract over 200 businesses from the region along with over 100 international buyers from the USA, Canada, Israel, Thailand, Mexico, Japan, India, Germany and France, who are taking part in the Going Global - Meet the Buyer Event the following day.
Guest speaker on the evening will be Economist, Author and star of Channel 4’s Around the World in 80 Trades, Conor Woodman. Using £25,000 from the sale of his flat and resigning from his job with a global finance company, Conor decided to trade his way across four continents and 16 countries as a travelling merchant, trading in all kinds of products: animal, mineral and vegetable; with the aim of doubling his money. Conor will take us through his journey, where his negotiating skills, charm and eye for a bargain was put to the test against some of the world's oldest trading cultures.
