Inside Industry factory visit programme enables manufacturers to benchmark their performance and learn best practice tools and techniques from some of the most successful businesses in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

J E Hartley has over twenty five years experience of processing and freezing peas and root crops, supplying to leading brands such as Heinz and Baxter's as well as own label products for leading retailers. The company's York production plant processes around 15,000 to 20,000 tons of vegetables per year. To meet the ever changing requirements of its manufacturing, wholesaling and food service customers, the company has invested over £5 million in the latest technology and systems for a freezing plant.

On this visit, find out how the team has introduced new methods of Total productive Maintenance (TPM) within the factory and how this has dramatically improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The team are now developing a structured programme for Preventative Maintenance to make sure they get the most out of their new technology.
