Success on Tour - Growing sales internationally

05/02/2010

Success on Tour shows new ways to do business. Six of the region’s top business leaders are opening their doors for Success on Tour – a series of free breakfast master classes, packed with information to help senior business people stay ahead of their competitors. Designed to help businesses of any size learn to do something new in an affordable way, each visit will explain how Yorkshire’s business leaders have overcome different business challenges to stay competitive.

Growing sales internationally will be held on the  5th February 2010 at AESSEAL , Mangham Road, Rotherham. Growing sales internationally - and the challenges of people and international pricing will be hosted by Gordon Bridge, Chief Executive, AESSEAL. AESSEAL was established in 1981 and is now selling to 93 countries worldwide with subsidiaries in 33 countries. Its product is a precision engineered mechanical seal. Applications are diverse with industry sectors covered including oil and gas, pharmaceutical, mining, power generation, pulp and paper and food processing. Mechanical seals are even used in hydrofoils and torpedoes. AESSEAL has grown overseas in a variety of ways – sometimes with a distributorship, through a joint venture or with a wholly-owned subsidiary. The visit will cover:

•The Excellence Model

•Creating a global structure and consistent culture across the world

•Managing international pricing and currency fluctuations

•When to recruit locally, when to form joint ventures and when to use distributors

•Responsiveness to customer requests

There will be a tour of AESSEAL’s very new and award winning factory; chance to meet apprentices and their managers; and meet some of the support teams who travel around the world and their view of the international culture of the business.

Pre-booking is required for all visits. For full details and bookings go to www.successontour.com. Success on Tour is supported by Yorkshire Forward. Business Ambassadors, chosen by the Minister for Yorkshire and Humber, Rosie Winterton, will host each event.
