‘Going Global - Meet the Buyer Event 2010’ is your opportunity to mix with international buyers already keen to do business with companies in our region. It’s the largest meet-the-buyer event of its type in the UK, bringing over 100 overseas organisations together in one place—so don’t miss it!

What is Going Global?

‘Going Global - Meet the Buyer’ introduces you to international buyers actively looking to do business with companies in Yorkshire & Humber—all on one day, in one location. You’ll hear first-hand about their procurement policies and buying cycles, and discover opportunities open to your business. There will also be practical workshops, and the Global Village and Master Classes will offer access to a wide range of experts, including regional and international support organisations and representatives from some of the key trading markets.

Who’s it for?

The event is open to Yorkshire & Humber businesses of all sizes, providing they have an export strategy and the capacity and commitment to do business with international companies, large corporations and government agencies around the world. The event will attract over 900 delegates from across our region, from a wide range of industry sectors. Specific industries covered will include advanced engineering & materials, construction, chemicals, digital & new media, environmental technologies, food & drink, and healthcare & bioscience.

How will you meet buyers?

On average, each business attending the event can expect to have between 3 and 5 pre-booked appointments with overseas buyers. Each meeting will last for a maximum of 15 minutes, covering an introduction to each company; a summary of your past performance and successes; and an exploration of opportunities and next steps.

When & where?

The event will take place on Wednesday 17 March 2010 at the Yorkshire Events Centre, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, North Yorkshire (get directions).

How much does it cost?

The event is free for delegates attending the Global Village and Master Classes. There is a nominal £50 fee + VAT for companies approved to participate in the Meet the Buyer meetings (this fee permits two delegates from each company).
