Leeds based Surgical Innovations, the designer and manufacturer of innovative surgical devices, was delighted to welcome Prime Minister David Cameron to its Leeds facility last week as part of a visit to the region to see Yorkshire’s pioneering Healthcare Technologies industry.

Mr Cameron was in Yorkshire to give his first major speech since becoming Prime Minister and used it to focus on the government’s determination to help boost UK businesses. As part of his tour, he visited Surgical Innovations, one of the region’s major manufacturing success stories and a global leader in medical devices for surgery.

Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds, said: “It was great having a visit from the Prime Minister to see the fantastic work done by Surgical innovations from their base in Leeds. We are incredibly proud that this innovative company is designing and manufacturing leading edge surgical equipment and exporting all round the world. It shows that, with vision, flair and drive, British companies can be world leaders. It is so exciting that Surgical Innovations are doing this right here in Leeds.”

Graham Bowland, Chief Executive Officer of SI said: “It has been a proud day for everyone connected with Surgical Innovations.  The Prime Minister’s visit to our facility enabled him to see first-hand how sustained investment in both manufacturing and product development has provided a secure foundation and numerous opportunities for growth for Surgical Innovations.”
