Mark Spincer has been appointed the new managing director of Doncaster Racecourse in the midst of a busy season of racing and events.
Mr Spincer, who has been working at Newcastle Racecourse before joining Doncaster, will have a busy schedule ahead, with his plans for the venue including much more than just racing.
His main priority will be to develop Doncaster, which has already evolved into a leading conference and event venue in Yorkshire, the Midlands and North of England.
Mr Spincer said: "Doncaster Racecourse has an outstanding reputation as a sporting, leisure and corporate venue. I am thrilled to be joining such a thriving and prestigious business at this exciting time and look forward to continuing and building on its many achievements."
He will be joining Doncaster at a crucial time as the historical venue is preparing for the course's two biggest events of the year.
A live outdoor concert will be played by UK Brit super band 'Scouting For Girls' after racing on August 14, while Doncaster's annual racing highlight - the four day Classic Ladbrokes St Leger Festival - is to begin on September 8.
