Export-Led Recovery To Bring Manufacturers Together
24/05/2010
Manufacturers from across the region are to descend on Rotherham for a special event, which will be hosted by Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the South Yorkshire Manufacturing Forum.
Following on from the British Chambers of Commerce’s announcement that recent manufacturing figures have been much stronger than expected, representatives from manufacturing firms across the region will attend the FREE breakfast event at AESSEAL on Tuesday 15 June.
The activity will start from 7.30am with a welcome from former Master Cutler Gordon Bridge, before delegates are addressed by Richard Wright, Chair of the Yorkshire & Humber Manufacturing Task Force, on the Regional Manufacturing Strategy.
The Master Cutler James Newman will then speak about funding growth in manufacturing, in his role as Chair of Finance Yorkshire, before AESSEAL Chairman Chris Rea discusses export-led growth at his company. The morning will conclude with an optional tour of AESSEAL.
John Lewis, Chief Executive at Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, said: “Manufacturing has a vital role to play in bolstering our economy by helping to generate an export-led recovery and there are many superb examples of local companies who are leading the way in this area and trading very successfully.
“This event will allow companies to access advice from leading manufacturing experts, learn from their experiences and understand how to take advantage of the business opportunities that international trade can provide. Places are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so book early to guarantee attendance.”
Places can be booked by calling 0844 414 5100 or online at www.brchamber.co.uk. E-mail info@brchamber.co.uk for more information.
