Football club offers healthy option

Sheffield Wednesday football club is set to become one of the first teams in the country to introduce healthy eating options at its ground.
Hillsborough Stadium will offer healthy matchday meals, for both children and adults, as part of its joint commitment with The Children's Hospital, Sheffield, to make a difference to the health of the local community.
Children will be able to purchase healthy choice food boxes, which contain a sandwich, cereal bar, apple and a fruit juice or bottle of water for just £2.60. Meanwhile, for the grown-ups there will be a number of healthy snacks available, such as low-fat yoghurts as an alternative to chocolate and sweets and assorted fruit bags priced £1.40.
There will also be a number of specials available on matchday from all stands in the stadium, with mushroom stroganoff and crayfish tagliatelle, both making the healthy option list.
David Smith, head of catering and hospitality at Hillsborough, said the initiative was not about persuading football fans to stop eating fatty foods in an instant.
"It is about offering a healthy alternative for families that demonstrates we are a socially responsible club with a strong commitment to caring for the local community."
