Lap of luxury for Yorkshire dogs

A luxury kennel maker in Yorkshire has seen sales rise this year, despite the credit crunch.
Doncaster-based Garden and Leisure Buildings has reported a rise in demand for the top-of-the-range dog houses and has received enquiries from all across Europe.
The firm says there has never been a better time for pets to be in the dog house as it offers a range of luxury single and double houses that can be customised to the owner's or dog's taste.
The houses come complete with their own veranda and canopy for sunny days and optional infra-red heaters to keep dogs warm in the winter.
Director Michael Eddom said: "Sales of the luxury dog houses have really taken off this year, so much so in fact that we are now looking to export them. We have already had many enquiries from Europe, and from Spain in particular.
"When it comes to looking after their pets, owners are prepared to defy the recession and spend on their four-legged friends."
The firm has recently taken an order for its largest dog house yet, at 8ft by 8ft, for a customer who wanted to keep his two pet pigs in a luxury home.
Prices start at £171 and designs can include doors, windows and felt tiled roofs to complete the look.
