Modernised college building open

Selby College's state-of-the art Jubilee Building is now open to its students following a handover ceremony.
As part of the £35 million revamp, the modernised building houses science labs - beyond the expectations of the college's bosses.
College principal Allan Stewart said: "When we first started making plans to redevelop the Abbot's Road site, we had a vision to completely modernise our facilities and offer an education fit for the 21st century and beyond.
"We could never have imagined we would end up with something on the scale of the Jubilee Building."
The ceremony was attended by the town's MP John Grogan, mayor Steve Shaw-Wright, and the Chairman of Selby District Council, Ian Chilvers.
Leeds-based architects Atkins said it was "pleased" to have received positive feedback.
Atkins' project manager Paul Gott said: "Selby College's aspiration to continue being an outstanding provider of education was key to our design concept.
"Now we're looking forward to seeing the students enjoy learning in their new environment."
The development was completed in just over a year by construction company BAM.
