South Yorkshire firms Ashton Morton Slack and Burley Financial Services have collaborated to launch a new financial services company.
Ashton Morton Slack is a law firm, while Burley specialises in financial advice and financial planning services. Both companies are based in Sheffield.
The law firm is not allowed to offer financial advice to its clients. However, with the establishment of the new firm - called Northchurch Financial Services - it is hoping to serve its clients with independent and impartial financial advice.
Ashton Morton Slack said through the joint venture it will cover areas including retirement planning, wealth management, estate planning and employee benefits packages.
Ashton Morton Slack partner Steve Williams said: "Northchurch is an exciting development building on the reputations of two of Sheffield's most highly regarded firms.
"The law preventing legal firms from providing financial advice, while designed with good intentions, has caused many problems not just in Yorkshire but across the entire country.
"Northchurch Financial Services is a sensible and truly independent answer to such problems, a way of offering specialist financial advice and solutions underpinned by a first class legal service. It's what our clients and others in similar situations have been crying out for."
