Popular York a real city slicker

When it comes to having pride in the city where your live it is the residents of York who lead the way with an impressive 86% of those living there saying they are proud to do so.
City of York Council leader Andrew Waller said: "We put a lot of effort into making the city welcoming, and there is always a great deal going on here which makes us stand out from the rest of the UK."
Pollster YouGov questioned more than 2,000 people across the country for The Co-operative, asking them about a range of aspects of local pride.
Peter Marks, group chief executive of The Co-operative Group, said: "The survey has thrown up some interesting results, but, as a Yorkshire man, I'm delighted that York has done so well and has so many residents who are proud of the city where they live."
In terms of Yorkshire cities, Sheffield was the second favourite with a 67% rating, followed by Hull (58%) and Leeds (53%)
