Leading mental healthcare provider Priory Group has opened its first Yorkshire home for older people.
The care home, designed to serve residents needing nursing or dementia nursing care, is expected to create up to 70 jobs.
Cooper House, in Bradford, will have 80 beds and will include a choice of lounges and dining areas and an enclosed landscaped garden.
Professionals like a GP, chiropodist, optician and hairdresser would also be accessible to residents.
Sharon Butler, managing director of Priory Group Care Homes Division, said: "We are making significant investments in older people's services over the next few years. Cooper House has been well received by healthcare professionals, particularly in light of the nursing and dementia nursing services it provides for the local community in Bradford.
"People are now living longer and have more complex needs and associated health issues that the Priory Group have the experience to care for. "
Philip Scott, chief executive of The Priory Group, said: "The ageing population in Yorkshire means there is increasingly a need for high quality care homes. This has presented a perfect opportunity for The Priory to open its first facility in the county."
The Priory Group plans to build more care homes for older people in England and Northern Ireland.
