The new marketing director for tourism agency Welcome To Yorkshire has pledged to put Yorkshire "at the forefront of people's minds".
Marcus Falconer, who was head of marketing for the adventure company Go Ape for four years, will lead the agency's marketing team.
Chief Executive Gary Verity said his appointment, which follows the agency's rebranding from the Yorkshire Tourist Board, came at an "exciting time" in the development of the brand.
Falconer pledged to build on the previous awards and successes of the agency, such as hosting the Tour of Britain's opening stage and the Mountain Bike World Cup.
He added: "I will lead the team in targeting domestic and key international markets to make Yorkshire the destination at the forefront of people's minds."
Welcome to Yorkshire has seen recent marketing success, including winning TravelMole's Best Tourist Board website for www.yorkshire.com and the International Business Forum's award for innovation in marketing.
