Well-wishers welcome world champion

Hundreds of well-wishers braved the rain to welcome home new heptathlon world champion Jessica Ennis.
Ennis, 23, told crowds lining the streets of central Sheffield that she wanted to win more medals for the city where she was born and raised. Last month, she won Britain's first-ever World Championship heptathlon gold in Berlin.
The flag-waving crowd cheered as the athlete thanked them for stepping out in the bad rain. After being presented with a canteen of Sheffield cutlery by Lord Mayor Graham Oxley, Ennis looked slightly perplexed.
However, it was all smiles from the star when council leader Paul Scriven gave her a Mulberry handbag on behalf of the city.
She told the crowds: "It's so nice to come here and have all the support from the city, not just this year but last year when I was injured and I missed out on the Olympics which was a horrible, horrible time. But I know all of you guys here in Sheffield were behind me.
"I have done so well and to be able to come back and bring a gold medal back to Sheffield has been amazing."
