20/07/2009

A seafood festival is to take place in Whitby over the August Bank Holiday weekend to highlight the high standard of fish and shellfish available on the Yorkshire coast.
Coastal Flavours of Whitby will take place over August 29 and 30 to celebrate the seaside town's vibrant fishing industry and wide range of seafood.
The event, hosted by the Yorkshire and Humber Seafood Group and Endeavour Wharf, will also see celebrity chefs doing cookery demonstrations in a food theatre.
Celebrity television chef Ed Baines and Rob Green - chef and owner at Green's Restaurant, Bridge Street - as well as tutors from Betty's Cookery School will be giving cooking demonstrations.
A food hall will showcase specialist food producers from across the county and there will be entertainment for all the family in a marquee.
The Mission to Seafarers, the Whitby Catch, Whitby Tourist Information Centre and others are also involved, with a seafood trail around the town also a possibility.
