Yorkshire Pass

The Yorkshire Pass, which is the UK's first regional sightseeing pass was launched on 1 April 2010.

The Pass gives entry to over 70 of the county’s crown jewel attractions. From world heritage sites (Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal), world firsts (The Deep), world famous historic houses (Castle Howard and York Minster) and royal castles (Conisbrough Castle). Every region in Yorkshire is covered by the Yorkshire Pass and, the more the Yorkshire Pass is used, the more savings are made.

What is the Yorkshire Pass?

The Yorkshire Pass is the UK’s first regional sightseeing pass, offering a choice of entry to over 70 participating attractions. The pass is available as a one, two, three or six day pass making it a superb addition to a leisure break and a superb way to encourage visitors to stay even longer in 2010.

The more people use their Pass, the more they save.

The Pass also has an accompanying booklet with maps and information on each attraction.  Also included is a special offers booklet containing a wide range of special offers for leisure activities, coffee shops & restaurants, evening entertainments and retail shopping offers.

How does it work?

Passes are presented upon arrival at each attraction for entry.  The Pass permits one entry at each attraction for the duration of the Pass.  The pass is validated at the first attraction visited.

Which venues are involved?

The crown jewels of Yorkshire’s attractions. From world heritage sites (Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal), world firsts (The Deep), world famous historic houses (Castle Howard and York Minster) and royal castles (Conisbrough Castle). Every region of Yorkshire is represented by the Yorkshire Pass.

How can tour operators get involved?

By including the Yorkshire Pass as part of their itineraries, this adds value to any group tour, giving members of the tour freedom to explore the region - good rates of commission are available for operators. For more information contact Elaine Moss on info@yorkshirepass.com or em@visityork.org

Why is it good for Yorkshire?

As the UK’s first regional sightseeing pass Yorkshire is leading the way in providing visitors with the easiest way to see the best of its attractions. The Pass, and the special offer discounts will encourage visitors to experience more of what Yorkshire has to offer. The Pass will also be used to increase the length of stay.  Extra visitors to attractions who would not have otherwise visited due to either cost or lack of knowledge will provide additional revenue through secondary spend in gift shops and cafes.
